‘I was running my butt’

They harden it – and then rubbed the salt in the wound.

A group of smuggled teens have gone viral after leaving a zero waiters in difficulty and a gloomy four -word message on the bill instead: “Wear a life jacket”.

The 22-year-old server, who passes from Janet and works in a chain restaurant “in the southern Midwest area”, says she was unfortunately used to strengthen.

But this time, it was not just the lack of cash – it was a punchline at its expense.

When Janet noticed the note instead of a peak, she realized that it was merely a delightful crack for the latest historical floods. @Error_conflection331/Reddit

“Coming with the territory of being a server,” told Janet Newsweek after sharing a photo of the Reddit bill earlier this month under the handle u/error_conflection331.

When Janet saw the marking instead of advice, she initially thought it was a soft knot for the latest historical floods in the area.

“I thought it was a ridiculous joke at first because we had received historical floods in our area recently,” she said. “The manager also thought so. They were confused to me, and so was all the other staff.”

Teens-a pack of about 18 or 19 years of age, according to Janet, they were asked if they could get the manager in the country, claiming they left the note because she was “drowning”. Physkes – Stock.adobe.com

But the bartender later threw the truth bomb: The teens who Janet described as a group of about an 18- or 19-year-old dozen-asked if they could take the manager in the country and said they left the note because Janet was “drowning”.

Jabi was hit like a ball.

“If all my other tables were upset with me, or if the management was united with them, I could completely look at myself and say,” Yes, I didn’t deserve any advice or a bad type, “Janet said.

“But if everyone else thought I was doing well, so I don’t know what they were thinking”, while noting that some clients “have their reasons not to participate if they thought the service was not good or if they simply have a moral or ethical attitude against it.”

The teens entered a Tuesday evening and looked quite nice – at first.

“I thought I was doing well by continuing with everything,” Janet Newsweek told. “The only time of managing the time came in was to run the drink because I asked for them.”

And it wasn’t as if she was calling it – quite the opposite. “All my other tables were tied to or over 20%,” she said.

“Like, a table scored $ 50 in $ 170. I was running my butt trying to gather as many tasks as possible,” she continued.

For Janet – and most service workers – tips are not a bonus, they are a rescue.

Even when clients harden you, you are still stuck in part of the bill – because, as Janet pointed out, many restaurants in the US shared tips among staff. Maria Vitkovska – Stock.adobe.com

“Tips are how I make almost all my income,” she explained. “My weekly payment is only $ 100 after taxes.”

And when a customer hardens you, you still end up following a portion of the bill.

“Something that many people don’t understand is that many restaurants in the SH.BA share tips,” she split.

“For me, I have to issue 2.5% (week days) to 5% (weekend) of my loan sales to support staff. This is whether or not a table advises. Normally on average from value tips of a table I have to pay every night.”

However, she is trying to get up on her – and perhaps educate the next dinner group.

“I try to keep an open mind with every table. I never know what someone is going through before he enters,” she said.

“I just wish they had understood more about what was going on.”

A commentator under Reddit’s post wrote that “sounds like they are looking for an excuse to be rude jerks.”

Another user slammed teens, writing, “If I were to be them, I would still have got you well because you were drowning, and support and understanding [are] needed. They are with pipes, sorry this happened. “

However, the incident comes after a February 2024 study, which found that 76.1% of Americans think Tipping has “gone too far” after increasing costs has prompted “Tipflation”.

Over half (51%) of service workers agree, saying they will better receive a lifestyle and spend advice.
