One mother has gone viral after discovering that no one can pronounce her daughter’s unusual name – stating that her doctor also gets it wrong.
Emma Hutton, 35, says “Nobody can understand” the name given to her youngest child, stating that the unusual moniker “is not that difficult to get right.
The two-two British mother named her one-year-old daughter Elae-Albanian “because she does not want her bub to be” debt “.
But it becomes increasingly frustrated that people, even intelligent adults like doctors, cannot get their heads as they say.
“People still don’t know how to read my daughter’s name,” she was divided into a recent Tiktok video entitled “It is not so difficult.”
â € œ € 2025, I did not know that people would not be able to understand the basic English.â €
The furious mother, who lives in Sheffield, England continued to explain that she had just been to see her general doctor who had mistakenly pronounced the name Elae before realizing their mistake.
“He spent the wrong, again, he called it Ellie,” she explained.
â € œ for he just looked at me and went, â € ˜i € ™ ë ™
â € œeah, is pronounced as the city, but he gave me an empty look.â €
She then went on to explain how to say Elae’s name correctly, saying it is said in the same way as “the city of Los Angeles.â €
But social media was not very understanding, rather to argue that Hutton should have chosen a more conventional spelling if she wanted to avoid confusion.
“If people decide to pronounce slightly different” different names, they will not go crazy with those who try to pronounce it. We try, – € responded to the viral clip.
“It’s not their fault, it’s yours. Why don’t people get it?” Another agreed.
While someone else was music: “I will pronounce it” € “lay”. “
“If Ell-on is pronounced this is how it would be written, this is phonetically incorrect, said someone else.
â € œtorry I mispronked the strange name you created, â € mocked one.
While one clinging back: “If everyone is making a mistake, do you think maybe this is more of a problem for you than the problem of all?
“It looks like a compound name. I take it with your accent, but most would say Ellie. Is it compound with that spelling? If so, you can’t really bother with people,” another argued.
Others were more charming, stating that it was a “beloved” name and sharing their battles with alternative names.
“I also have this with the name of my daughter, the Beau of her name pronounced Bo, not Boo or Bew, – a split.
“My daughter is Tasia (like Asia with Tay sound at the front) she is called Tasha,” another.
â € œSame like my daughter they pronounce that Zay-Lia and her name is pronounced Zay-la (her name is written Zaila, â € one entered.
Rant Hutton’s comes after millions watched a previous video in January in which she explained that “people do not understand Elae’s name.
â € œ € ™ € ™ € ë ™ € had people to say that they feel bad about my baby, or that I have set it for a harassed life, – the young mother, who works as a nail technician, said The Sun at the time.
“They called me a chav, or [say] that I have tried to win a competition for the strangest name in the world.
“I honestly can’t take care of less. But I see so strange that adults adult feel the need to share their terrible negative thoughts for a child.
“I would never comment on a mother’s post telling her that I think her baby’s name is stupid and terrible.â €
2025 Australian baby names report, compiled by McCrindleâ, parents recently discovered are turning their backs into “traditional” names, instead choose shorter versions, and names containing fewer syllables.
“After surveying different generations of parents and those planning to become parents across the country, we found that there is a preference for unique names over traditional ones,” the report found.
â € œ this tendency is being run by younger generations, who are embracing unique names more than any generation before them.â €
As a result, classic names like Michael, Charles and Quinn have completely fallen from the favor as they were once very popular choices.
