Nearly 10 years ago, Norma Lyons was 40 pounds overweight and considered Tortilla a large group of food when her doctor broke the news that she was prediabetic.
She does not want to take medication, the mother of three now 60 years old was determined to return her condition-and she did, turning her diet and health in just 90 days.
Now she has 1.8 million Tiktok followers who turn to her for healthy food tips and recipes – and twist, she told the post, is that she no longer adheres to the strict diet she used to roll her diagnosis in the first place.
In 2016, Lyons was a busy mother who did not prioritize her health.
“I have three sons and a man, and I was running around and didn’t care about myself,” she said.
She mostly ate what her children did, which meant a lot of cereal, bananas with peanut butter, sandwiches and ice cream.
“I’m Hispanic, so everything was thrown into a cake at the time,” she added. â € œlots and a lot of tortilla. Maybe a lot of cheese too – just the food overload that was simply not good for me.â €
Although she was not crazy about fast food and donuts, she weighed 180 pounds and would not be exercised at all.

The news not so sweet
In a routine check that year, she learned that she had set up A1C, a chemical in the blood related to sugar. It was firmly in the prediabetic area.

Carbohydrates Vs Diabetes
Lyons went home and did her study, quickly devoting herself to the Keto diet. “I had completely eliminated carbohydrates,” she said.
