Starbucks barists are constantly under pressure to complete coffee orders as soon as possible, so mistakes will occur – sometimes innocently and other times with purpose.
A former Barista Starbucks shared in Reddit how exactly they would seek revenge on rude customers. The former employee wrote in the Subreddi story, “I worked at Starbucks for more than six years, and the only way I could go back to rude customers was confusing their messages in detail.”
“Nothing very crazy, but just to be annoying. Some would talk on their phones as they order, they would make aggressive passive comments or just talk to us like we were not people,” they continued. “I was 22 years old then and I’m not exactly proud of her.”
Elaborating further that, though, “didn’t happen often”, the former employee discovered, “once, though, a lady asked me to evaporate her milk at 200 degrees. I told her it was a matter of security and couldn’t do it.
“She snapped,” hire someone who can. “So she received the treatment of Decaf,” they confessed.
The former Barista post is filled with almost 200 comments of different opinions on this little revenge. Some people who also work in the hospitality industry, linked by sharing how they would require revenge on rude clients.
“I did little things for rude customers all the time. I worked overnight at a Mexican restaurant, so we will often get the super rude and drunk crowd, “wrote one commenter.
“My friend worked at Starbucks on the Toronto trail, he would get a very rude ladies tea and rub it in the inside of the toilet bowl 10 minutes before it appeared. She drank shit tea every day.
“I used to put additional Tabasco sauce on a caesar girl because she threw her id to me when I asked for it (she was 19). She left saying ‘sacred, this is a spicy’ for her bf. Spicy drinks for a spicy attitude,” she got into another commentator.
On the other hand, some other commentators shared their concerns about someone’s coffee violations.
“You can also cause migraines in people who are addicted to caffeine at certain times of the day. Attraction is real and also not something to get easily,” chirped a person.
“I understand that customers can be POS, but please do not do it on the other side. Decaf for a caffeine is OK. Giving caffeine when ordered Decaf is a medical emergency that expects to happen. Please keep in mind this,” someone else said.
